Reviews for Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel Skip The Line & Basilica Tour
GREAT TOUR Company and Guide

Great tour! Our tour guide was very well informed and was really great about providing us plenty of information regarding the Vatican.
The only complaint we had, had NOTHING to do with the tour but everything to do with the other tourists. The Vatican is a special place for Catholics and holds a lot of meaning - individuals who are not Catholic definitely are NOT respectful of the sanctuaries. We went into the Sistine Chapel and there were SO MANY individuals talking. For those who don’t know, you’re not allowed to speak in the Sistine Chapel, people were very disrespectful. I definitely was also shocked with how lenient the guards were regarding attire and you had young women wearing very provocative clothing. Overall I don’t think I’d visit the Vatican again anytime soon. Also, for those traveling before 12/22/2024-12/25/2025, please remember Rome is preparing for the Jubilee which happens every 25 years. A lot of things are closed, covered, roped off for purposes of restoration and preparing it for the Jubilee. Make sure you do your research before planning your trip to Rome in the next year as there is an expectation of millions of more tour its coming to Rome for the Jubilee.
Way too rushed

The tour was great & informative but the speed of the walking was terrible. Way too rushed and the guide was nice but he said he can’t slow down due to he’s on a schedule. Really not good for people who have walking problems

We enjoyed and benefitted from our fun and knowledgeable tour guide (who is pictured in an October 11, review). We could not have been happier with how she used our time and the information that was shared. It was so nice not to wait in line as our time in Rome was limited.
Fantastic but hectic

Booked the Vatican museums, Sistine Chapel and Basilica skip the line tour through GetYourGuide for £171.66 for two people.
We met our group at one of GetYourGuide's local offices situated near a few cafes and therefore took the opportunity to have a cappuccino whilst waiting for our tour to begin.
It was then only a short ten minute walk to the entrance for tour groups and took another ten minutes to make our way through security.
Our guide was knowledgeable and welcomed any questions during the tour.
The only negative I could comment on would be that we felt a little rushed through the tour trying to keep up with our guide and on a few occasions lost him in the crowd. There was also a lady that had trouble walking and kept getting left behind, the tour guide nor any of the group seem to notice this and I had to keep going back to assist her.
As you can imagine it was extremely busy and humid due to the amount of visitors found it difficult to see all the artwork/sculptures whilst avoiding bumping into anyone.
The Sistine chapel was wonderful and although you are not permitted to take photographs or talk within the chapel this did not seem to deter anyone.
The line outside the Vatican was huge and all attempting to keep cool in the heat of the day and therefore glad we opted for the skip the line ticket.
I would recommend the tour but very hectic, pricey and a lot more organised than the Colosseum tour we also booked through GetYourGuide (see review).
